Or it may be that findings on physical examination or tests have suggested the possibility of a heart problem and specialist evaluation is needed.

Assessment must begin with a carefully taken history and an expert physical examination. Investigative facilities include full blood analyses, electrocardiography, echocardiography all of which require experienced interpretation to distinguish the many normal variants from the truly significant abnormalities
